Mini-conference, RPLA’s New Earlier Open, and This Year’s Conference
Announcing the FWA Spring Mini-Conference in Altamonte Springs
Mark your calendar for FWA’s 2013 Spring Mini-Conference Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Altamonte Springs near Orlando. We’ll have a full day of simultaneous workshops presented by a stellar faculty. If crime writing is your passion, you can opt for Vic DiGenti’s all-day workshop, which will run parallel to the others. Perhaps you’d like to book an agent interview. You’ll find all these opportunities and more.
Our keynoter is none other than Adrian Fogelin, author of seven successful novels, winner of more than three dozen state and international awards, and highly sought-after speaker. You have to like her style:
“A keynote is an interesting beast. It should make listeners laugh—and maybe cry. It should move them, show them their best selves and give each one something practical to bring home to their classroom or library, something that makes a difference in how they do their job. I try to do all that when I address a group—and I do it with the oldest and best tool in the human toolkit: stories.”
—Adrian Fogelin
This is an amazing bargain: $59 registration fee for FWA members, $79 for nonmembers. Agent interviews are $25 if you reserve before March 1, $40 after March 1. Check the FWA website (www.floridawriters.net) for details, then join us on April 20 and be ready to be inspired.
RPLA Opens in Less than a Month
FWA’s Royal Palm Literary Awards competition is open for submissions from February 15, 2013, until June 15, 2013.
