Critique Faculty: Dr. Douglas Houck

Dr. Douglas Houck teaches English and Writing courses at Edison State College in Punta Gorda, Florida. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech/Communication from SUNY Fredonia, a Master’s in English, a Master’s in Social Sciences (Public Policy Analysis), and a Doctorate in English from SUNY Buffalo. He has worked as a policy writer at the state level and published a collection of folklore, three historical novels, anIllustrated History of Chautauqua County(New York) and an Illustrated History of Charlotte County (Florida). He edited Writing Our History-One Writer at a Time, the FWA tenth anniversary publication, served as the president of the Peace River Center for Writers at Edison State College, and is Group Leader of the (FWA) Peace River Writers.

CRITIQUES: Historical Fiction & Adult Nonfiction Manuscripts (20 pages). Dr. Houck will be doing critiques for writers who sign up with their registration. Look for the Critique Form on the Registration Page. The cost is $40 (paid with your registration) and includes a written assessment and a discussion with Dr. Houck at the Conference. The 20 pages must be sent in by September 15, 2015. Please follow directions on the Critique Form.
