Sneak Peek at the Agents Coming to ‘The Greatest Writers Conference on Earth’

2013 Conference Icon XS(1)Step right up and mark your calendar for “The Greatest Writers Conference on Earth,” FWA’s 12th annual conference, to be held October 18-20, 2013, at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary.

Edna Buchannan is the keynote speaker for this three-day event where members find their agents, meet their publishers, and get the scoop on the industry.

Details on the conference will be posted on the FWA website ( before registrations begin April 1. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at some of the agents who’ll conduct workshops and interviews. Together, they cover most genres, so if you’re pitching, you should have no trouble finding just the right one to interview.

Check the website in the coming weeks for details, and when April rolls around, be sure to snag the early-bird registration rates. All faculty are available for one-on-one interviews, so don’t forget to book your appointments early; schedules fill quickly.

Dawn Michelle Frederick (Agent – Red Sofa Literary) Dawn Frederick is the owner of and literary agent for Red Sofa Literary, based in the Twin Cities.  Previously an agent with Sebastian Literary Agency, Dawn has a broad knowledge of the book business, with years of experience as a bookseller in independent, chain, and specialty stores. She is also a co-founder of the MN Publishing Tweet Up, a networking group comprised of writers and publishers.

Saritza Hernandez (E-Pub Agent – Corvisiero Literary Agency) Saritza Hernandez has been at the helm of the ePub revolution and is looking for authors ready to tackle this new “hybrid” model. She represents both new and established authors and is looking for well written romance with strong, sexy characters in the following sub-genres: intercultural romance, BDSM erotica/erotic romance, sci-fi/fantasy/urban fantasy romance, steampunk & cyberpunk romance, historical romance (emphasis on Ancient Egypt, Caribbean/MesoAmerican), supernatural/paranormal romance, GLBT-themed erotic romance, erotica, GLBT-themed young adult/new adult fiction, and general fiction.

 Chantelle Aimée Osman (Agent) is the president of A Twist of Karma Entertainment, LLC (, a screenplay editing and development company. She is also a published author of mystery flash fiction and short stories, an Anthony Award nominee, and the creator of The Sirens of Suspense ( website, which features blogs and interviews by and with mystery & thriller writers. Chantelle will be listening to pitches for screenplays and also serving as as a “pre-pitch” coach for people worried about their pitches for publishers or other agents in any genre.

 Gordon Warnock (Literary Agent – Foreword Literary Agency) Gordon Warnock is a founding partner at Foreword Literary, with experience as a senior literary agent, marketing director and editor for independent publishers, and freelance publishing consultant. Most of his list is comprised of nonfiction, and he’s particularly interested in socially responsible books that raise new issues or illuminate common issues in new ways. Preferred genres include memoir (adult, new adult, YA, graphic), cookbooks and food studies, political and current events, pop science, pop culture, self-help, how-to, humor, pets, and business. Though fiction is a smaller portion of his list, he’ll consider pitches for high-concept commercial fiction, literary fiction, new adult, YA, and graphic novels.
