Do You Write Sensual Romance, Fantasy, Historical, Science Fiction or Steam Punk? Well Then, Meet J. Ellen Smith
If you write any of these genres, we invite you to make an appointment with the executive editor and publisher for the Champagne Book Group, J. Ellen Smith, at October’s “Greatest Writers Conference on Earth” sponsored by FWA.
Interviewing directly with a publisher is a special opportunity. While most traditional publishers consider only agented submissions, during the conference, publishers on the faculty have agreed to meet with clients directly—without the filter of an agent. All you need to do is make an appointment.
Champagne Books encompasses three imprints. The Champagne Books imprint is looking for contemporary romance (high degree of sensuality, please, no sweet romances), vampire romance, fantasy romance, historical (western/highlander) romance, science fiction/futuristic, fantasy/urban fantasy, steam punk.
The Carnal Passions imprint is looking for more erotic manuscripts in the science fiction romance, m/m romance, f/f romance, and fantasy genres.
The BURST imprint is looking for science fiction and fantasy submissions in all variations.
When J. Ellen Smith isn’t busy with business and deadlines, she’s either meddling with the acquisitions department or out meeting authors and readers.
At the conference, she will also offer a workshop on how to how to pitch your book in 25 words or less. She’ll be a panelist on the Agent and Publishers Panel.
Nervous about pitching? Learn the secrets for pitching work to J. Ellen Smith and the other agents and publishers at a special three-hour pre-conference workshop for writers of all genres conducted Thursday, October 17, by Chantelle Osman at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary. Chantelle will also be available by appointment during the conference to work with you one-on-one. See the FWA website for more information and to register.
