Wednesday: Rise and shine, maggots!
Well, THAT was an amazing conference! Those who turned out at the CRACK OF DAWN to write to prompts deserve literary medals.
So, speaking of “crack of dawn,” please create an emergency situation that propels your character from his bed at an unusual hour. Make it urgent, to begin with, and be sure to counter any resistance your character expresses by continually raising the stakes–until the situation is resolved.
And, just for the stretch, what if you turn a potentially happy resolution into something less so? Or, vice-versa?
Either way, get to your conclusion, then pull a rabbit out of your hat and change it up.
Be careful. Rabbits have been known to bite.
Have fun! And I’ll see you NEXT October!
