March 17, 2014

WHEN: MARCH 29, 2014, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Plantation, Florida

As I mentioned in a previous post about the South Florida mini conference, the all-day conference will be divided into three tracks. Today, I will be discussing Track 1,WRITERS HELPING WRITERS.

You already know that Writers Helping Writers is the mantra of FWA, which is one of the reasons I joined FWA many years ago. It’s hard enough being a writer with all the criticism from non-writers. It is so important that writers work together and not against each other. Track 1 is designed with this in mind.

There will be a talk on the FWA Collection by Su Gerheim on what you need to do to submit your short story so you, yes, can be published.

The Attic Girls will have a class on how to get the most from your critique group. This will include giving and taking constructive criticism.

Beverly Holden Johns will discuss the discipline of writing. Isn’t that the hardest part sometimes? Actually sitting down and writing?

And then, after a break, the independent and self-publishing panel will be set up using the rooms from Track 1 and Track 2.

Hopefully the goodies of Track 1 interest you. If not, don’t fret. Look for future posts on Track 2, which is about Independent Publishing, and Track 3, the Mechanics of writing

See you at the conference on March 29th!

No offense but please remove the apostrophe in writer’s. It doesn’t belong there…

Is this conference free? Where do I sign up?

Also, you might want to fix that error in your post headline.

I posted about that error too and they deleted my post! I guess they’d rather keep it …

Apparently, these comments were stuck in the spam area for some reason. Don’t know why, but they’ve been approved.
