Exercise Wednesday: The end of the world as we know it
The last day of 2014.
No matter what, tomorrow will be different. The year will be different. If 2014 was the worst year of your life, tomorrow starts a new page–a blank 365-page book to be filled based on your actions and reactions. Even if it’s as figurative as a new calendar, it’s a chance for a fresh start and an opportunity to begin again.
Or maybe with the passing of this year, something valuable and important passes, as well. Maybe today is the last day of your employment. Maybe you head into the next year single for the first time in decades. Maybe your house, which used to be filled with children and activity, is empty or quiet.
Whatever it is, tomorrow starts something new. Which means today ends something old.
And that’s today’s challenge. Today is the end of the world as your character knows it. That could be good, bad, or mixed. But whatever the case, the world will be different the next time your character wakes up. What does that mean to them?
Time limit: 30 minutes
